Working from the bottom up, construction crews are making progress on The James Outpatient Care site located in the Carmenton innovation district. The eight-floor building is scheduled to open in the summer of 2023, along with the 640-space James Outpatient Care parking garage. A connected proton therapy center is also expected to open in fall 2023.

Current construction progress highlights include:

  • Installing drywall, HVAC Systems and ceiling grids on the top floors.
  • Painting walls and pulling IT cables on the fifth and sixth floors.
  • The lower floors are the furthest along with crews installing doors, finishes and lighting.
  • Crews are nearly finished with the parking garage as they wrap up final touches on the rooftop. Final striping and signage is expected to be completed in the spring.

The $349.5 million project will include outpatient operating rooms, interventional radiology rooms, extended recovery unit, pre-anesthesia center, a diagnostic imaging center, pharmacy, hematology clinic, genitourinary (GU) clinic, infusion and medical office and support spaces.

The approximately 385,000 square foot cancer-focused facility will include central Ohio’s first proton therapy treatment facility in partnership with Nationwide Children’s Hospital.
