Progress continues on the new building being constructed adjacent to Newton Hall. The building will be located on the south side of Newton Hall. When complete, it will include flexible classrooms, informal learning spaces and offices and ultimately serve as a gateway to the university’s health science campus.
Construction progress includes:
- Completion of steel sequences in the atrium and steel framework on the second floor.
- The first floor concrete slab was poured and a structural steel ramp was installed for the second floor.
- Work continues on a steel ramp, which connects to Newton Hall.
- Crews continue to install metal decking on the third floor along with waterproofing and insulation on the basement foundation wall. Glazing installation, the process of putting glass in windows, doors and fixed openings, will begin in October.
