Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. However, all programs and activities are being administered in compliance with federal and state law.

Overall work on the 1.9 million-square-foot inpatient tower is 70% complete, while exterior work on the façade is nearly 85% complete. The largest single facilities project ever undertaken at Ohio State includes up to 820 beds in private-room settings, large windows to enhance patient experience, safety and training for the next generation of health care providers. The tower is scheduled to open in early 2026.

    Construction progress includes:

    • Wrapping up canopy columns on the south entrance
    • Finishing ceiling drywall installation on the ground-floor lobby
    • Beginning terrazzo floor installation in second-floor cafeteria
    • Finalizing installation of stone cladding on exterior columns
    • Putting final touches on 10th floor mock-up patient room

Planning for the $1.9 billion inpatient tower is years in the making and advances Framework 2.0, the university’s long-term planning vision, as well as the Wexner Medical Center’s strategic plan.
