Waterman - Multispecies Animal Learning Center Begins to Take Shape

The Waterman – Multispecies Animal Learning Center (MALC) facility is beginning to take shape as crews have finished pouring the concrete foundations for the main arena and the structural steel has begun to arrive to start going vertical.

“Since beginning mass excavation and grading in July, more than 50,000 cubic yards of dirt have been moved on site,” said Chris Kuhn, project manager of the MALC facility. “The Waterman Infrastructure Project will resurface and expand Carmack Road between Lane Avenue and Kenny Road to create a new multi-use path to increase connectivity and access to Waterman.”

The 100,000 square-foot project consists of an interconnected series of barns housing different species which include swine, equine, poultry and others. The dairy portion of MALC is scheduled for completion in October 2025 followed by the main facility in November 2025.
