The Ohio State University has announced the new name of the growing innovation district on the university’s west campus: Carmenton.

The Energy Advancement and Innovation Center, located on the corner of Kenny Road and Lane Avenue in Ohio State’s Innovation District, is getting high marks. The facility recently won the 2022 Green GOOD DESIGN® Award. The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies and The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design named EAIC as an award recipient.

It replaces the previous biggest-ever jobs incentive, also for the university.

In the News: President Johnson speaks to university's commitment to energy efficiency through new facility

Ohio State is moving one step closer to its sustainability goals with the creation of the Energy Advancement and Innovation Center in the university's Innovation District.

"It will be a hub for Ohio State researchers, local entrepeneurs, industy experts to work together on the next generatiion of smart systems, renewable energy and sustainability solutions," Larzelere said.

Groundbreaking ceremony held for Energy Advancement and Innovation Center

A special ceremony at The Ohio State University on Nov. 12 marked the start of construction for a new hub of energy research and technology incubation.

Ohio State President Kristina M. Johnson joined National Science Foundation Director Sethuraman Panchanathan, Vice President and Head of Major Partnerships for ENGIE North America Serdar Tufekci, and Representatives Joyce Beatty and Troy Balderson for the groundbreaking ceremony for the Energy Advancement and Innovation Center (EAIC).
