Slideshow: Controlled Environment Food Production Research Complex

New renderings of the Controlled Environment Food Production Research Complex (CEFPRC) showcase the future home for interdisciplinary research connecting horticulture, engineering, entomology, pathology, food science, computer science, and human nutrition. The $35.8 million project is currently in the early stages of construction at the Waterman Agriculture and Natural Resources Laboratory.

January consisted of mobilization, site layout and staking. In February, the project team will begin rough grading the ground to ensure it is level, followed by the beginning of foundation work and the start of all associated underground utilities.

View the slideshow above for a sneak peek at the finished product. The CEFPRC is scheduled to open in September 2022.
