Construction of the Dodd Parking Garage is on track as installation of the storm water detention system wraps up and concrete footing, garage foundations and elevator pit work continues. A tower crane was recently installed in May and will be in place through March 2022 to move construction materials across the site. The garage will have six levels and 1,100 parking spaces for Ohio State faculty and staff.
Additional construction activities include:
- Pile caps and concrete footings, which support the garage foundation, will be complete mid-June.
- The first floor of concrete at ground level is expected to be installed later this month.
- Daytime concrete pours will begin in June and overnight concrete pours will occur July through November 2021, as 14,000 cubic yards of concrete are used to build the new garage. Learn more.
The garage is located within walking distance of the Wexner Medical Center and is being built on the former Dodd surface parking lot. The $33.3 million project is expected to open in June 2022.
