Construction on the $49.3 million Energy Advancement and Innovation Center is about 90% complete. Crews are wrapping up seal coating on the top floors and just finished pouring the loading dock. The four-story building is on track to open at the end of November. It will be a space for Ohio State faculty members, students, alumni, ENGIE Buckeye Operations researchers, local entrepreneurs and industry experts to work together on the next generation of smart energy systems, renewable energy and green mobility solutions.

Construction progress includes:

  • Soundproof flooring being installed in test pods
  • Seal coating floors of top levels
  • Installing architectural soundproof panels to meeting rooms
  • Installing Akron Brass systems for emergency use on solar panels
  • Installing exterior overhang roofing
