Slideshow: Outpatient Care New Albany Construction Progressing

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center Outpatient Care New Albany is beginning to take shape. The facility includes two sections, a five-story medical office building and a two-story ambulatory surgical center.

To date, concrete has been poured for floors two through five of the medical office building space. Construction crews are preparing the first floor slab on grade and expect a concrete pour in late February. The team is 90% complete with plumbing and electric underground rough-in at the first floor.

The ambulatory surgery center wing should have its concrete pour fully completed by the end of February, while plumbing and electric underground rough-in is ongoing. The construction team continues work on structural steel and the site storm water sewer.

The project is sited at Hamilton Road and SR 161 in northeast Columbus. The site joins outpatient care expansion plans in Dublin and Powell. The comprehensive facilities are part of a new suburban outpatient care program that supports growth in the region and excellence in academic health care. At approximately 250,000 square feet, the $137.9 million project will include ambulatory surgery, endoscopy, primary care, specialty medical and surgical clinics, and related support space.
