The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center Outpatient Care West Campus site, located in the Innovation District, is almost 50% complete. The 385,000-square-foot cancer-focused facility will include central Ohio’s first proton therapy treatment facility in partnership with Nationwide Children’s Hospital.
Construction progress highlights include:
- The main power is set to be turned on to the building in late February.
- Concrete housekeeping pads, which are used for mechanical equipment installation, are being poured throughout the building.
- Interior wall framing for the proton treatment rooms have been framed, mechanicals have been installed inside the walls and drywall finishing continues.
- Wall partitions as well as in-wall mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) equipment are being installed on levels one and two. Overhead MEP rough-in is ongoing on levels one, two and four.
- Exterior wall panel installation continues in preparation to accept brick and window enclosures.
- The beginning stages of roofing has begun and the bases for the air handling units have been delivered recently and will eventually be placed on top of the roof.
- Site work is ongoing with roads being cut to align with hardscaping plans, which include placement of sidewalks and curbs.
- Cast-in-place stairs and the elevator core in the 640-space parking garage are complete. Stair railings are being installed.
