Slideshow: Interdisciplinary Health Sciences Center

Crews began installing structural steel three weeks ago.
Crews completed construction of concrete towers with stair and elevator shafts last November.
A wide shot of the structural steel with the anatomy wing in the background.
The exposed brick is the old exterior of what was the existing Hamilton Hall on the 2nd floor of the anatomy wing.
2nd floor anatomy lab. Classes started here on January 10th.
Students can all wash their hands in these 2nd floor sinks during class changes, which leaves room for students arriving and departing.

The Interdisciplinary Health Sciences Center is 50% complete. The anatomy wing opened in January 2022. Steel installation continues as part of the classroom wing phase, and parts of Hamilton Hall are being prepared for demolition in order to expand the current building footprint. When complete, the project will create a collaborative campus for interprofessional education throughout the Health Sciences.

Construction progress includes:

  • The anatomy wing is now being utilized for classes and daily operations.
  • Foundations for the classroom wing are complete, and steel erection has begun.
  • Underground utilities are nearly complete beneath the new classroom wing footprint.
  • A majority of the underground site stormwater water structures are in place and will be tied-in later this year.
