In the News: Inside Pelotonia Research Center in Carmenton

The Columbus Dispatch recently took an inside look at the Pelotonia Research Center, a newly opened $227.8 million, 305-square-foot interdisciplinary laboratory building. Located at Carmenton, researchers have started "setting up shop in the Pelotonia Research Center," according to the news outlet.

"It's difficult to see science in the United States," Mohler told the Dispatch. "We want everyone to experience and understand what it's like to be a scientist."

Columbus Business First recently featured the innovation impact of The Ohio State University's new Pelotonia Research Center.

According ot the outlet, the center aims to speed the real-world impact of Ohio State research by providing a physical space that encourages collaboration across academic disciplines, said Mohler, the university's research vice president who took on the interim role in March.

The Ohio State University held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to open the new Pelotonia Research Center Monday led by university leaders, researchers, representatives from Pelotonia and Columbus Mayor Andrew Ginther.

The Ohio State University announced today that the university-affiliated Science and Technology Campus Corporation (SciTech) will collaborate with global real estate company Tishman Speyer to develop a master plan for Carmenton, the university’s innovation district.

An innovative and modern idea comes to life as construction on the Pelotonia Research Center, formerly known as the Interdisciplinary Research Facility, is more than 90% complete. Building Inspections on the five-story laboratory building are set to be finished by March 2023. Heating, Cooling and Mechanical Piping Systems Commissioing is schedule to complete in May 2023 with opening scheduled for June. The building will serve multiple disciplines including biomedical, life sciences, engineering and environmental sciences and others.

Buck-Eye View – Interdisciplinary Research Facility

Construction on the Interdisciplinary Research Facility, located in Ohio State’s Innovation District, is 70% complete. The 5-story building will house both wet and dry laboratories and serve multiple research disciplines, including biomedical, life sciences, engineering and environmental sciences. Two floors will be dedicated to the university’s Comprehensive Cancer Center including its new Pelotonia Institute for Immuno-Oncology.
