A milestone three years in the making has been reached. This week, construction crews took the first step of connecting The Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute (The James) to The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center Inpatient Hospital under construction.
As highlighted by The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, construction progresses on its new inpatient hospital tower as the highest steel structural beam has been put in place.
Construction on the largest single facilities project ever undertaken at Ohio State is approximately 40% complete. The building features large windows in patient rooms providing natural light, and a view of the Olentangy River. Standing at 410-feet tall, when complete, the inpatient hospital will be the 10th tallest building in Columbus.
Progress continues at the Wexner Medical Center inpatient hospital project. Columbus Business First recently shared an update on project enhancements, including the news that 120 rooms initially planned as "shell" sturctures would instead be finished on the interior to help avoid disrupting patient care.
Drivers on SR-315 cannot miss views of an expanding Wexner Medical Center inpatient hospital project. Lower levels have exterior glass in place on the building located just south of Cannon Drive.
