In the News: Cannon Drive Phase II

Columbus Business First recently wrote about the university seeking Board of Trustees approval this week for Cannon Drive Phase II.
The Optometry Clinic and Health Sciences Faculty Office Building opened in November 2020. The $35.9 million project, located at W. 11th Ave and Neil Ave, constructed approximately 106,000 GSF for optometry clinics, retail, faculty offices and support spaces.
The Mars G. Fontana Laboratories is phase I of the Biomedical and Materials Engineering Complex. The building opened in August 2020 and aligns with Framework 2.0(opens in new window) and the university’s strategic plan, by enhancing both teaching and learning through improved facilities and support space.
Ohio State is committed to sustainability and recently released a plan to reduce its carbon emissions by 55% by 2030. To advance these efforts, the university sought and recently obtained approval from the Ohio Power Siting Board to build a Combined Heat and Power Plant (CHP) that will provide a new source of heat and electricity to campus via a District Heating and Cooling Loop (DHC).
The Optometry Clinic and Health Sciences Faculty Office Building, located at the southwest corner of W. 11th Avenue and Neil Avenue, will include optometry clinics, retail, faculty offices and support spaces. It is scheduled to open in November 2020.
