The Ohio State University is investing over $3 billion in capital improvements to create the campus of the future, shaping the best possible environment for clinical care, learning and research.
Two premier university departments under one roof. Thanks to Facilities Operations and Development, Biomedical and Materials Engineering Complex is scheduled to open in August 2020 and will be home to biomedical engineering and materials science and engineering.
Joe and Linda Chlapaty have made a $15 million commitment to Ohio State in the hopes of furthering research into atrial fibrillation, an irregular heartbeat that can lead to stroke, heart failure and other serious complications.
The Chlapatys’ investment will support space within the Interdisciplinary Research Facility, part of Ohio State’s new Innovation District on west campus.
According to This Week News, Dublin City Council is expected to vote on Monday, Nov. 4, for a rezoning ordinance for the construction of an Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center medical campus.
The ordinance would change about 34 acres from a research/office district zoning designation to planned-unit-development district.
