Slideshow: Inpatient Hospital
Construction on the 1.9 million-square-foot inpatient tower, scheduled to open in early 2026, is 60% complete. As crews work to finish the lantern glasswork along the top of the structure, the building is on track for an early 2026 opening. Nearly 1,100 workers are in and out of the building daily.

Cannon Drive Relocation – Phase 2 progress continues. The intersection of John Herrick Drive and Cannon Drive, originally anticipated to reopen in August 2023, will reopen in late September 2023.

The Wexner Medical Center Inpatient Hospital tower is scheduled to open in 2026. The largest single facilities project in The Ohio State University's history, the 26-floor building will have 820 beds in private room settings.

Slideshow: Cannon Drive Relocation – Phase 2
Cannon Drive Relocation – Phase 2 rebuilds the roadway between John Herrick Drive and Woody Hayes Drive at its current elevation and constructs a certified ODNR flood protection levee. When finished, the project will add up to 500-year flood protection for the Columbus campus.
