Construction on the Biomedical and Materials Engineering Complex – Phase 2 is ramping up after beginning in October 2023. Crews are finished with interior abatement and are now focusing on structure and exterior façade demolition.
The Columbus Dispatch recently toured the Wexner Medical Center Inpatient Hospital construction site. The $1.9 billion hospital is 75% through its construction phase, project manager Ragan Fallang told the outlet. It is expected to open in the spring of 2026.
As reported by Columbus Business First, The Ohio State University Board of Trustees will vote on Thursday on a $165 million request for the bulk of construction costs and professional services. The $183 million project has completed design and is now ready to move to full construction as early as April, pending board approval.
The Robert F. Wolfe and Edgar T. Wolfe Foundation has made a $50 million commitment to The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center’s Inpatient Hospital project, set to open in 2026.
